Happy Anniversary Richard!

18 years ago today, I married my best friend in the entire world - Richard McIntyre. Since then, my life has been better than I ever could have imagined.

Richard, over the last 18 years of our marriage (and even before that) you have lifted me up and encouraged me to reach my full potential. You have stuck by my side in the darkest moments and we have rejoiced together in our happiest moments. You are my soul mate and I know that we will be together forever in heart and soul.

I wish with all of my heart that we could be together today, but I find strength in knowing we will be together again soon.

Thank you for choosing me and making the last 18 years the best anyone could dream of. I love you.

My Site has been hacked!

Happy 18th Anniversary Mary!

Sorry for hacking into your blog. I called up a few guys I know to write some songs about you. I hope you like them:

Shes_Got_A_Way

Don't_Forget_To_Dial

I've known you for 20 years. As of today, 18 of those years we have been married. I finally drove you out of the country, but at least you still claim to love me. Words can't describe how much I love you, I could try, but I'm not sure I can type that long.

By the way, I know all about "Jack the Stripper" in London, so don't make any plans on having him at any parties of yours.

Have a great day, I wish I was there, or you were here.

Word Up, God Bless and Peace Out!

What's that smell?

Nice ride in on the train this morning. I was really happy because I got a seat on the fast train. It was in the middle of two men and the train was crowded, but still I got a seat.

Then the smell hit - someone had farted. Now if it were just that once and the odor moved on, that would be OK. Unfortunately, the offender must have had a bad case - because the hits just kept on coming - all the way into London. And it was definitely a silent but deadly attack.

I kept trying not to breathe. I know it was not the man or woman across from me because I kept seeing their noses wrinkle as well.

When we arrived in London, the "fresh" air of the station was never such a welcome sniff.

Fairyland

I visited the magical hidden park in Surbiton on Sunday. It was so beautiful. It feels almost like a sacred place and I feel sure fairies live there. Here are some pictures I took while I was there.

Just after I left the park, I walked around the corner and there were two beautiful bushy tailed foxes trotting across the street and sneaking into the wooded park. I wasn't quick enough to capture it on my camera, but it reminded me of another movie set in England. Can you guess it?

Missing Wally

Wally passed away one year ago today. Sometimes it feels like yesterday and that we are still in an alternate reality to how things are supposed to be. Other times, it feels like we have been aching in this grief for such a long time and feels like it will never end. I do know that it will get better though and that Wally's love is still with us no matter what.

Wally was a second father to me. I had just met him when my own father passed away. In fact, he was the one who told me about my dad. What courage and heart!

Things I loved about Wally:

* He always made a point to say hello to everyone he saw
* He was always encouraging to his family and friends
* He made the best pizza
* He loved clocks and watches
* He loved a good joke
* He loved to tease
* He had such a bright and easy smile
* He liked cook-outs with family
* He loved baseball and football and sports in general
* He loved to give to others
* He truly listened to others and cared about what they were saying
* He gave great hugs
* He adored his grandchildren and they adored him
* He was so proud of his children and his wife
* He made everyone feel loved

I miss you!

Twee - continued

Here is how I answer the phone - in case you haven't heard it in awhile...

I did not know that this is how I looked however.

Makes me laugh. Very twee I think.

Twee

I was having dinner with a friend tonight and we were talking about accents and voices. She told me that when I answer the phone it is very twee.

I wasn't sure what that meant and she assured me it was a good thing.

Here is the definition from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

twee

Pronunciation: \ˈtwē\
Function: adjective
Etymology: baby-talk alteration of sweet
Date: 1905
chiefly British : affectedly or excessively dainty, delicate, cute, or quaint

What do you think - a good thing?

Mayfair

I work in Mayfair in London. It is the place where all of the celebrities party at night and where all the wealth managers do business during the day. My office is on Berkeley Street, about a block from the Ritz Carlton.

Seeing a Bentley or Rolls Royce or Aston Martin is commonplace. Here is a car I saw recently in front of the Rolls Royce dealership.

Happy Mother's Day

I hope my mom has an extra special day today - even though she is still recovering from bronchitis and pneumonia. I wish I could be there to give her a giant hug!

I hope all the other moms I know also have a wonderful day with their children. Enjoy it for me.

Things I like to remember about my mom:
* Her laugh
* How much fun she has with her sisters
* How much fun she has with her grandkids
* When she used to snuggle me when I was little bitty
* Leaving May Baskets for her and she brought them in, put them in vases and told me how much she loved them - even though she was allergic to them
* When she would make apple pies - she would take off the skins of the apples in long winding pieces and give some to me to munch on (Once she was doing this with potatoes, but I thought they were apples and asked for some - she gave it to me and giggled at the face I made)
* Our cruise together to the Caribbean
* Taking care of me when I was sick
* Reading to us when we were little.
* How brave she was in moving to Texas
* Getting her degree in Accounting - doing something she had always dreamed of.

Even though we may not always see eye-to-eye, I respect and admire you, Mom. I love you! Happy Mother's Day!

Dreams

I had some really weird dreams last night about going through unique and winding shopping malls and theme parks and sports fields with my family. It was some sort of strange journey with interaction with the "locals" all the way but not a clear destination. It wasn't scary and was actually nice because we were together but I'm not really sure what it all means...

Nice Surprise

I was walking home after I had dinner in "Our Italian Restaurant." I saw the light from the setting sun hitting the top of this tree and it looked really pretty. When I decided to take a picture, I was happily surprised to see a rainbow right behind the tree. Cool.
